DANIYAR SARSEYEV

 

Los Angeles based photographer, videographer creative director and visual storyteller.

Daniyar Sarseyev creates elevated visual experiences at the intersection of fashion, art, and commercial storytelling. With more than 15 years of experience, he works with brands, artists, designers, and individuals to develop distinctive imagery that captures attention, communicates identity, and leaves a lasting impression.

 

Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Daniyar began his creative career at the age of 15, experimenting with self-portraiture and developing the bold visual language that would later define his work. His photography has been published in ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel, Tatler, Men’s Health, S’N’C, Nakid Magazine, Etage, Fashion Collection, Rixos Magazine, Air Astana, and other international publications.

 

Throughout his career, Daniyar has received significant recognition for his contribution to fashion photography and visual culture. In 2016, he was named “Best Fashion Photographer” by ELLE Kazakhstan. The following year, he received the “Photographer of the Year” award from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. In 2021, he was selected as one of Kazakhstan’s “100 New Faces,” a national recognition celebrating individuals contributing to the country’s contemporary culture and development.

 

His career spans fashion editorials, commercial campaigns, celebrity portraits and large-scale creative productions. In 2014, Daniyar became the first photographer from the former Soviet Union to create a magazine cover story at the Baikonur Cosmodrome during a rocket launch one of the defining projects of his early career.

 

In 2018, Daniyar founded OKO Studio in Almaty, developing it into an influential creative space for photographers, designers, artists, and fashion professionals.

 

Now based in Los Angeles, Daniyar brings an international perspective to every project. His approach goes beyond taking photographs: he develops the concept, shapes the visual direction, assembles the creative team, guides clients throughout the shoot and oversees the final image from production to post-production.

 

Whether creating a fashion editorial, commercial campaign, personal portrait, or complete visual identity, Daniyar transforms ideas into imagery that feels intentional, elevated, and unforgettable.
